Libraries

Samuel conducted in-depth research on libraries in the Irvine and Orange County areas, exploring their role in the community and opportunities for expansion. He presented his findings to the Orange County Board of Supervisors, where his work received incredible feedback and overwhelmingly positive reception. Samuel's goal is to raise awareness about the importance of libraries as essential hubs for education, connection, and opportunity. To further amplify this message, he even wrote a novel inspired by the transformative impact libraries can have on individuals and communities.

Immigration

Samuel conducted ethnographic research on asylum, focusing on the root causes that drive individuals to seek refuge and the profound impact of the asylum process on their lives. Using a combination of qualitative data and insights from his work at an immigration law office, he was able to analyze these complex issues from both a human and legal perspective. This research provided a deeper understanding of the systemic challenges faced by asylum seekers and highlighted the urgent need for compassionate, informed policy solutions. Samuel wrote a novel based on his research called "When Paint Dries".
