When Paint Dries
When lives intersect in a poor area of New York, what begins as a story of survival becomes one of resilience, unity, and belonging. Emmanuel, a college student from Zambia, Hamzeh, an Iranian realtor, and Myra, an elderly Indian grocer, may seem about as different from each other as they can get, but their shared experience of immigration brings them together amidst times of uncertainty. As the three immigrants confront personal struggles, betrayals, and shared hardships, they discover strength in each other. Together, they fight back against the forces working against them, rebuilding not just their livelihoods but also a sense of community in a foreign land. A story of perseverance, self-discovery, and the enduring bonds of friendship, "When Paint Dries" explores how, even in a city of millions, true belonging is found in the people who stand by your side.

Seek Justice: Reforming a Broken System
Justices and Judges must understand that their profession is sacred and should have that awareness all the time. Justices and Judges must be above reproach and they should work to earn the respect of the public. They should not make laws from the bench resulting in arbitrary administration of the law. There should not be conservative justices or liberal justices – just “justices” with strict adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Constitution. While working with a publisher to publish the full version of this book in 2025, the author was encouraged by his mentors to release this shorter abridged version for quick consumption, easy reading, and feedback. This book is a reminder of the Constitution, founding ideals, powerful symbolism, and the sacred responsibility of the judiciary. The author has always been fascinated by the American legal system and its foundational principles. While the authors of the Constitution tried to create an original document, they were grateful for the thousands of years of experience and history available ranging from the Code of Hammurabi to contemporary nations. As we study the U.S. Constitution and compare it to the constitutions of other nations, we understand that the U.S. Constitution is all-encompassing – leaving the door open for both Judicial Restraint and Judicial Activism. The Constitution says that to “establish justice” is one of its objectives in the Preamble. The English word Justice means uprightness, righteousness, fairness, equity, vindication of right, administration of law, and conformity to truth. James Madison, the Father of the Constitution wrote in the Federalist Papers that “Justice is the end of government. It is the end of civil society. It ever has been and ever will be pursued until it be obtained, or until liberty be lost in the pursuit.” Also writing in the Federalist Papers, defending judicial review, Alexander Hamilton defined the judicial branch as the “least dangerous” branch of the new national government, yet very consequential. It should stay apolitical and shun even the appearance of being political. It is a tall order, but the judicial branch is the only branch of the government that can and should be apolitical, as demanded by the Constitution. As a student of law with interests in Constitutional Law, Civil Rights Law, and Immigration Law – the author believes that our legal system needs to be fixed. During his extensive research and study for this book, he realized that the fix is already available within. As he reviewed dozens of court cases and sought expert legal opinions, it became increasingly clear to him that we have one of the best constitutions in the world, written with great intent, but we need courageous stewards to do right, who are unafraid to administer the law faithfully to those who Seek Justice – then only can we establish justice, truly.
